Xavier Freixes named Chairman of Atradius N.V.

Amsterdam, 3 January 2022 - Following his resignation as CEO of GCO, Ignacio Álvarez has also stepped down as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Atradius N.V. with effect 31 December 2021.

Xavier Freixes, an independent member of the Atradius N.V. Supervisory Board since 2011 and the Chairman of the Audit Committee of Atradius N.V. since 2014 has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board with effect 1 January 2022.

Jose Maria Serra, Chairman of Grupo Catalana Occidente SA, commented: Ignacio's contribution in his role as Chairman of the Supervisory Board for the last 11 years has been instrumental in guiding Atradius and its very successful evolvement." Mr. Serra continued, "We are convinced that the appointment of Xavier Freixes will be the base for the successful continuation of the guidance of Atradius within GCO’s strategy based on its three pillars: growth, profitability and solvency".

In addition, to cover the vacancy in the Supervisory Board, Juan Ignacio Guerrero, an independent member of the Board of Directors of GCO and Chairman of the Audit Committee of GCO, has been appointed as a new member of the Supervisory Board also with effect 1 January 2022.
