Andreas Tesch – our CMO and Atradius host for the event series

Andreas Tesch was appointed Member of the Management Board and Chief Market Officer (CMO) in October 2011.

As CMO he is responsible for Atradius Credit Insurance worldwide (excluding Spain, Portugal, and Brazil), and for the units Atradius Dutch State Business, Global, Special Products, and Group Communications & Commercial Development.

Andreas Tesch became Head of Global, Oceania and New Markets of Atradius in 2007 following six years in directorship roles with the company, spanning Risk Services for Central and Eastern Europe and Corporate Development & Communications.

Prior to joining Atradius, Andreas Tesch was Director of Simon Kucher & Partners, where he advised clients on strategy and mergers & acquisitions. Andreas Tesch has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Cologne.

Daisy McAndrew: our moderator for the event series

Daisy McAndrew is a popular conference facilitator with particular expertise in finance and politics. 

The face of the high-profile presenter and media trainer can often be seen flickering on screens as she reviews papers for Sky News, BBC News, and This Morning. She is currently doing regular political commentary for Euronews.

Before leaving ITV News to go freelance, Daisy spent an efficacious seven years there reporting on major issues such as the credit crunch and the recession as its Economics Editor, as well as presenting ITV Lunchtime and Weekend News, and ITV Moral of the Story.

Prior to ITV, she presented (as Daisy Sampson) the BBC's Daily Politics and was BBC Breakfast News' political correspondent.

Before moving into broadcasting, Daisy began a 10-year stint at Westminster writing for newspapers from the Press Gallery, profiling MPs in The House Magazine (which she ultimately edited), and eventually became the Press Secretary for Lib Dem leader Charles Kennedy. 

Daisy was also consultant on the BBC’s A-Z of Politics and edited The Politics Companion, published by Chrysalis books.

She had her own drive time show on LBC Radio as the host of the weekly O2 Business Show in 2013, which uncovered the latest business gossip through discussions with leading British experts.

Other presenting spells include Channel 4's Powerhouse, the BBC's Heaven and Earth Show and BBC Weekend News. She has also been featured on Have I Got News for You?, The Wright Show, Despatch Box, and many Radio 5Live programmes.

As well as acting as a patron of the St John's Hospice and being an active supporter of Crisis, she is the trustee of the Internews Europe which aims to empower local media worldwide to give people the news and information they need.

Daisy’s presenting accolades keep on growing as she adds anchoring London Live to the list. The broadcaster hosted all the coverage surrounding the 2016 London mayoral elections, including breaking news and exclusive interviews.

John Hulsman

Dr. John C. Hulsman is President and Managing Partner of John C. Hulsman Enterprises, a prominent global political risk consulting firm. He is a Life Member of the US Council on Foreign Relations, the pre-eminent US foreign policy institution.

John is the widely-read Senior Columnist for City AM, the newspaper of the city of London, where he writes prolifically on foreign affairs and political risk.  In addition, John is a regular columnist for Arab News in Riyadh, Aspenia Online in Rome, The Hill in Washington and ORF in New Delhi.

The author and contributor to 14 books, John has given over 1550 interviews, written over 870 articles, prepared over 1340 briefings, and delivered more than 540 speeches on global political risk and foreign policy for blue chip corporations and governments around the world.

John has made a name for himself as an uncannily accurate predictor of global geopolitical risk, including calling the UK’s Brexit result and the 2020 US election result, in addition to 18 of his firm’s past 20 major political risk predictions.

An outstanding and practised speaker, John has given more than 1,340 high-level briefings at the invitation of the CIA, the House International Relations Committee, the National Security Council, the Pentagon, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the US Department of State, and governments around the world.

Building on his Washington DC experience, he is a cutting-edge facilitator of war games, a powerful analytical tool. These are simulated exercises played by well-briefed individuals to test assumptions and illuminate a range of likely foreign policy outcomes that will constitute the real-world conditions that must be mastered in the times ahead. John has designed, played and facilitated over 100 war games for blue chip private sector banking and hedge fund clients as well as governments around the world.

Gordon CessfordLesley Batchelor

Lesley Batchelor

Lesley Batchelor OBE is a champion of UK exporters, with a powerful track record in enhancing the international performance of hundreds of businesses. Known as a force of nature within the industry, she has changed the export fortunes of many businesses and helped to promote professionalism within global trade.

After 15 years working with blue-chip giants including Fujitsu Europe, Canon, Ciba-Geigy and Coca-Cola, Lesley set up CMC Marketing to develop inspirational overseas strategies and international training programmes for SMEs. In 2007 she joined the Institute of Export (IoE) where she worked as director general for 12 years promoting professionalism and the need for qualifications and support for businesses.

Lesley has worked with several government and non-governmental organisations. She was co-chair of the Bribery Act 2010 Scrutiny Expert Panel working with the UK Government’s Department for International Development. She worked as the Government’s Anti-corruption Champion and additionally advised on All Party Parliamentary Groups for Trade & Investment and Manufacturing, as well as Select Committees supporting SMEs and the WTO Alliance & Trade & Investment Committee.

Lesley now runs Export Boot Camps, an ICC and ILM accredited training company teaching businesses owners and managers to trade optimise engagement and results in international trade. She also acts as a board advisor to Bridgehead International Agency and Open Borders Direct.

With invaluable expertise in intellectual property, global licensing and marketing Lesley has been awarded CBI Real Business First Woman in Business Services and CEO of the year from Trade Association Congress in 2015. She is often sought out for comment on Brexit and international trade issues, writing thought leadership pieces for many journals, TV and radio stations.

Gordon CessfordGordon Cessford

Gordon Cessford

Gordon is Regional Director for Atradius in North America, covering the US, Canada and Mexico. With a long track record of success in banking and financial services, he is a hugely experienced international trade specialist with expert insight into the risks posed by tariffs and other international trade challenges.

Gordon is facilitator of business growth with the highest standards of client management, sales achievement and people development. He has more than 25 years of experience in the credit insurance industry, where he has served in a variety of positions, including Chief Commercial Officer and Regional Commercial Director for major credit insurance carriers. In these roles, he was responsible for all aspects of commercial, client and sales strategies in multiple markets.

Prior to taking up his position in the Americas in 2019, Gordon served as Atradius’ Commercial Director in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for operations throughout the Asia Pacific Region.
